Sky Country Estates is a residential only housing subdivision located in the beautiful Sacramento Mountains of southern New Mexico. We are a few miles east of the village of Cloudcroft, New Mexico, on top of Young Canyon and about 25 miles from the city of Alamogordo, New Mexico. Sky Country Estates properties are a part of a mixed conifer forest at an altitude between 8,500 - 9000 feet above sea level and adjacent to Lincoln National Forest. We are surrounded by an abundance of Douglas fir, southwestern white pine, white fir, oak and aspen. Wildlife in the area include elk, mule deer, black bears, mountain lions, turkeys, chipmunks, gray fox, horned lizards and many other animals that are common to a forest ecosystem.
Sky Country Estates Property Owners Association is an association organized to administer, operate, manage, and maintain the Development’s private roads. Additionally, to establish a trash disposal system, to modify, amend, and enforce the Restrictive Covenants and Rules as needed in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Restrictive Covenants and to carry out such other purposes as may be permitted under the laws of the State of New Mexico or approved by the Members.
We have a Board of Directors, and separate Road committee to administer the subdivision according to the bylaws of the association. All property owners in the development are members of the association by ownership.
Water for the subdivision is provided by Sky Country Estates Mutual Domestic Water Consumers Association (SCEMDWCA). SCEMDWCA is a New Mexico licensed public water utility. Property owners must be a member of SCEMDWCA to receive water services. The membership is separate from Membership in Sky Country Estates Property Owners Association and is voluntary.
